Track has strong showing in Houston All-Comers meet
SFA finishes with top-10 finishes in several events

The SFA Men's and Women's Track and Field team traveled to Houston Saturday to compete in the Houston All-Comers meet. SFA came away with numerous top-10 finishes and had multiple top-10 marks in several different events.
The Ladyjacks just missed an individual title in the women's 3,000 meters. Megan Jenkins, Houston junior, posted a time of 10:23.13 to finish second overall just ahead of Marie Flores. Rosharon junior, (10:23.48). Haley Parsons, Rowlett freshman, was the third Ladyjack to cross the finish line placing seventh overall with a time of 10:26.63. Amy Shackelford, Port Neches junior, rounded out the top-10 with a time of 10:37.30.
Mary Dickerson, Groveton sophomore, finished third in the women's 400-meter dash by clocking a time of 57.99. She was one of two Ladyjacks in the field's top-10, as Amahra Edwards, Fort Worth freshman, clocked a time of 58.82 to finish 10th overall.
The Lumberjacks posted a similar showing in the men's 400 meters as Joe Barb, Denton freshman, continues to impress. Barb clocked a time of 48.41 to finish second overall. Barb's time just missed the school record by .21 of second. Chris Moody, White Oak senior, finished fourth overall with his time of 49.19.
Dickerson returned to the track to lead a trio of Ladyjacks to top-10 finishes in the women's 200 meters. Dickerson finished sixth overall (25.59), just ahead of Kelia Crawford, DeSoto junior, (25.63). Silent-Joy Egboba-Waye, Lancaster senior, finished the race 10th overall with a time of 25.88.
SFA also placed two in the high jump top 10. Carrie Hahn, Vista Ridge sophomore, was the team's top finisher by clearing a height of 5-5.00 to finish fifth overall. Alicia Jackson, Richmond junior, finished seventh after she cleared a height of 5-3.00. Egboba-Waye clocked a time of 8.77 to finish fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles, while Tabitha Riley, Carrollton senior, recorded a fifth-place showing (8.87). Egboba-Way recorded her third top-10 finish of the afternoon with a mark of 18-9.75 to finish third in the long jump.

Danielle Burchett, Arlington sophomore, finished third overall in the race with a time of 2:17.33, while Travis Beavers, Sanger senior, led a trio of Lumberjacks in the men's race. Beavers finished fourth overall with a time of 1:57.09, while Austin Hardy, Cedar hill junior, placed sixth (1:57.95) and Jonus Rodriguez, Poth freshman, was eighth (1:58.59).
Other SFA athletes who recorded strong finishes were Marcus Rosendall, Mansfield freshman, who finished third in the men's high jump with a mark of 6-6.25. Sarah Sloan, Groesbeck sophomore, cleared a height of 10-11.75 to finish 10th in the women's pole vault. Camelia Sams, Longview junior, was seventh in the long jump (18-4.25), while Alicia Jackson, Richmond junior, finished 10th overall (17-10.75) in the event. Kelli Hermes, Victoria freshman, finished fifth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 38-7.75.
