As graduation approaches, I have been given the opportunity to reflect on the last four years of my life as a Lumberjack and the three years that I have spend taking photos for The Pine Log. I started at The Pine Log as a contributing photographer and worked up to the position of staff photographer. I quickly found myself in the position of the Photo Editor, a job I have had the pleasure of doing for the past year.

Although I am a business major, I have broadened my horizons by entering into the intriguing world of journalism which has completely changed my outlook on the news media industry. SFA has provided me with many photo opportunities that I don't think I could have found on any other campus.

When it comes to people I would like to thank, there are so many that I don't know where to start. I would like to thank Justin Elbert for getting me started in the photography industry as well as the opportunities he showed me with The Pine Log. I would also like to thank Hardy Meredith, the University's photographer, for being a great mentor throughout my journey at SFA. Oh and of course, I would like to thank Pat Spence, the student publications director. You have changed my life and have been so kind in everything that you have helped me with.

As for everyone else, (you know who you are….) it has been fun getting to know each and every one of you and I wish you the best of luck in the future.

To our readers, I hope you have enjoyed seeing my photos over the past few years. I never thought I would be interested in a project like a student newspaper, but having had the opportunity, I would never take it back. A lot of hard work and many long hours go into producing The Pine Log, so I hope that you have enjoyed reading about what is going on campuswide, and I hope that you continue to pick up an issue on your way to class.
