Nacogdoches police have released information that the robbery that took place at Cambridge Court and that resulted in the death of Charles J. Frazar was "a drug transaction gone bad."
Witnesses apparently told police the suspects had gone to the location to purchase marijuana. During the transaction, one of the suspects produced a handgun with intentions of robbing the victims of a quantity of marijuana, according to an NPD advisory.
"The deceased then produced a knife and attacked the suspects," according to the advisory. "One of the suspects in this case knocked on an apartment door in another area of the complex after being injured. There is no indication that there was any connection between the suspect and the occupants of the apartment."
NPD said Frazar lived at the apartment where the incident took place with another man, who has been identified as the victim's brother.
