This year has featured new albums from big artists such as Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie and Weezer, and the list will continue to grow later this month when a few more big artists release new material.
The Killers are releasing their fourth album, Day and Age, on November 25. Two tracks from the album, "Human" and "Spaceman," have already been released and the new material does not disappoint. The band will be touring beginning in January for their new CD, and will be playing shows in Dallas, Houston and Austin this February.
Another big artist releasing a new album on Nov. 25 is Kanye West. His new album, 808's and Heartbreak, will feature new tracks from the artist featuring 11 songs and the use of Auto-Tone. When "Love Lockdown" was released a few weeks ago, fans got to hear West's use of Auto-Tone for the first time, and there were mixed reactions, so it will be interesting to see how the album does.
Over the summer Coldplay released what just might be the best album of the year, Viva La Vida, and now they are planning on releasing an EP the week of Nov. 23 featuring eight tracks not included on Viva La Vida. Coldplay is also releasing a deluxe edition of Viva La Vida with the Prospekt's March EP.
The Beatles are a rock'n'roll staple around the world, and their music will soon be hitting the shelves in a video game from the makers of "Rock Band."
Harmonix and the Beatles' Apple Corps. LTD. announced last week they would be creating a video game based on the music of the Beatles.
The game is set to release in 2009, and will feature music from their first album, Please Please Me until their last album Abbey Road. This is the first time a video game will feature music from the Beatles, but the specifics are still being kept under wraps.
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Yoko Ono have been negotiating for almost two years with Harmonix to create a partnership between the two corporations.
Although their music will be released in this format, the Beatles' music is still not available on iTunes or legally over the Internet. The digital age has created new opportunities for musicians and this new video game will open new doors for Beatles fans.
